Get your blue ribbons out and wear them all month. Colorectal cancer is preventable. Get your colon checked. If colon cancer runs in your family you may need to be checked as soon as your Forty's. My son are in this group.

Colorectal cancer is no fun. I had/have Colorectal Cancer since 2005. I just like 3 more treatment on this round of Chemo. Don't say it can't happen to me. Because even though my grandmother had it, I didn't have mine check until it was to late, never thought I would have it. I was a very health, then one day I had one of the signs of cancer. But I kept telling myself it was something else. Finally told my doctor and she order the test. Sure enough it was positive. My family hasn't been the same.

My page has a blue ribbon on it to remind those that visit my page to always beware of Colorectal Cancer.

Oklahoma had a terrible ice storm on Jan. 28, 2010, Marlow was not spare from it wrath. I woke up about 11 am to strong wind, rain, low temperature , and the popping and crashing of limbs all around mine and mom's house. It was kind of scary for a while. Sounded like a war outside. During the afternoon I would go outside and take pictures of the trees. The rain stopped later and the wind stoppe blowing, and it started to snow, and the trees kept crashing taking more and more power lines down. The electricity went off about 1 pm. Our house has a gas heater and cook stove, so we had heat. We dug out the oil lamps and candles.

The next day we woke to more ice every where, ice sickles were hanging on the wire lines. I took more pictures of the other yards around us. Our neighbors shared lamp oil with us. They would check on us all the time. As our freezers would start thawing we would sent the meat for them to us, there were usually 10 people at their house for 3 meals everyday. We all started to put things to stay cold on the back porches, nothing like mother nature's on ice box

After 5 days Terry, my son, brought us a generator from Oklahoma City. Our neighbors came over and would get us gas and oil and would start the generator. We are blessed with good neighbors. Nearly all the houses on our one block had a generator, you could hear the generators running all over town.

The power was off to most of the town for 12 days. The transmission lines into Marlow were down. The power station was damaged when the power lines and pole snapped and that delayed the power coming back on, while they waited for a part.

The First Baptist Church receive 2 generators and set up a shelter and food for the people of Marlow , the shelter was also set up in Duncan. Food was donated by people from Marlow and was prepared by church ladies, and Red Cross, they kept the people fed at shelter, police, fire station and all the power company they came to help with getting the power on. A big thank you to all of them for all there help.

Water plant was kept going with 2 generators. We just had to limit our water usage.

Marlow has a new Code Red system that had been implemented just this last fall was put into service, we were call once or twice a day keep us update on what was going on. They even had people come by each house and handed out sheets telling about power, water, school and shelter.

Tree services came into town and cut down trees on property that want to hire them. After the storm was over our neighbors came over and cut the limbs off out tree and trimmed it up. Marlow was one of the worse hit in Stephens county. It will take a while before all the limbs will be picked up, and those they could hauled off a site was set for the limbs to be unloaded. Plans are to dig big pits and burn them all. That's going to be one big bonfire.

We all made it threw and survived the once in alive time Ice Storm. Our family kept track of us by phone, they all made sure we had everything we needed.

These pictures were just taken on my block, you could only image what the rest of town was like.

Ice storm in Jan. is a thing of the past. Limb remove has begun all over Marlow.

I will be taking my ninth Chemo treatment on Monday. The drug that I'm taking is stronger and makes me feel weaker, had to lay off 3 week to get to feeling better. But my CEA was 1.4 a month ago it was 2.75 so the mass is less active. This is very good.

Mom is doing good her foot still gets sore, but she back to doing nearly every thing she did before, just slower.

Terry is busy as every, he takes care of me during my chemo week, he brought a generator when the ice storm hit and he comes down and shops for us.

Scott is working hard on his school work, he is doing great, and getting good grades. His master degree is suppose to be finished in Dec.

Kevin, Donna and Eric are doing well, just a few more months and Eric will graduate high school. Donna went to doctor for check up and the doctor told her that she had 2 strokes, this all happened a year ago. Donna is doing well works 5 nights a week at Wal-mart. She will have to take blood thinner the rest of her live. We don't want her to have anymore strokes
Sad news Coco the dog died. He was 19 years, a really old man, a sweet dog and missed by us all. Widget the other dog now has his on blog site. His site has all cute pictures of him.
Bessie, mine and mom's doggies as sweet as she always is. She is really a lot of company for us. Keeps mom occupied and keeps her from being lonesome when I'm gone to OKC.

Tiny Rex the Turtle is still visiting us. Mom is really getting attached to him. When Terry's schedule slows down, then he will take him home again.

I think that brings us up to date.

Marlow, Oklahoma had 40 mile a hour wind and blowing snow. The snow drifted and piled up around buildings, fences and my car. About 6 inch total snow but some places it was deeper.

Last night was Halloween, I went to my friends in Duncan, where we order pizza and handed out candy to the trick or treater's, just a few minutes the power went off. The power outage covered at least 4 towns. Was it ever spooky. My friend and I did what everyone else did in Duncan we went to Walmart. Went to get some battery operated touch lights and we head to Marlow, mom was there setting in the dark, we want to get some light to her before she decide to start trying to get around in the dark, that all she needs is to hurt herself again. By the time we got to the house the lights were back on.

Naomi and I turned around a headed back to Duncan to finish our visit. We stopped and got a soda pop. We spent the next 2 hours just talking and laughing.

I headed back home, just as I got to the curve just before the edge of Marlow, when a big raccoon ran out in front of me. It was to late splat , poor raccoon never had a chance...Guess he want have the guts to do that again.( No, I didn't just used that all joke).. I really hate that I hit him. Just no way to miss him..
